Interesting numbers showing that China's foreign investment has seen a significant decline since the Trump admin opened the trade war. Their war chest is only down 25%, though, so we could be in for a much longer haul.
Anyone who's read Sun Tzu understands two primary points of Chinese culture: That China is always at war with every other country on earth--the only variable being where on the continuum of warfare they operate with each country--AND that China thinks any behavior that helps China is ok. China's state owned foreign corporation laws, driven by these two philosophical points, give the Chinese immense leverage to steal intellectual property from foreign companies operating in China. This is one of the major engines that has allowed the Chinese economy to grow as fast as it has.
China will not stray from its current path without an EXTREMELY impactful alteration to the landscape of politics or foreign relations.
