Tomorrow is the 18th anniversary of the horrible carnage of 9/11. On this anniversary I wish to honor the memory of my friend, defense expert E.G. (Ernie) Ross who repeatedly warned anyone who would listen that America was vulnerable to a disaster comparable to Pearl Harbor that brought America into WW II.
The September 11, 2001 disaster ushered in WW III. WW II was the U.S. and its allies against the Axis powers of Germany, Italy, and Japan. WW III is Islam vs. Western Civilization. I fully recognize that there is a difference between Muslims and Islam just as there was a difference in WW II between Germans and Nazis. Those that endanger the U.S. and the free world, then and now, are individuals and groups that take these two ideologies seriously enough to put them into demonstrable action that comes into direct, violent conflict with the world around them.
Ernie Ross understood all of this long before the event occurred along with a handful of others who were not listened to by the powers at be because their insights made them "uncomfortable." Leadership requires addressing matters that need addressing , not saying/doing things to make people comfortable.
